The Longest Book Tag

I was tagged by The Butterfly Reader

Sorry it took me so long to actually complete this tag....I don't think I've completed this before so I'll give it a shot. If I have, sorry....my memory is terrible.

The rules:

1) Make a list of the 5 longest books you've ever read

2) Select 2 of the longest books on your tbr

3) Discuss

 4) Tag others

1) 5 Longest books I've ever read

Note: I'm not counting nonfiction, reference books, or bindups.
Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)
Breaking Dawn: 756 pages

Eclipse (Twilight, #3)

Eclipse, 629 pages

Kingdom of the Wicked (Skulduggery Pleasant, #7)

Kingdom of the Wicked, 607 pages

The Dying of the Light (Skulduggery Pleasant, #9)

The Dying of the Light, 605 pages

Mortal Coil (Skulduggery Pleasant, #5)

Mortal Coil, 604 pages

2) 2 of the longest books on my tbr

 Outlander (Outlander, #1)

Outlander, 850 pages

Fallocaust (Fallocaust, #1)

Fallocaust, 829 pages

3) Discuss

Well, there are some very long books out there, that's for sure. They actually kind of scare me....I prefer books that are 350-500 pages, usually. That doesn't mean that I won't read a book because its longer than that....I'm just a bit wary. Especially if it's a physical book, because my hands hurt after holding it for a while. Although I also find that when I read a book on my tablet or eReader, that it seems longer? So reading a super long book could take ages.

Some of my favourite books have been super long, though. Many of the Skulduggery Pleasant books are over 500 pages. When I love the characters and the world-building, the longer the book, the better!

I have a bit of a personal issue when it comes to big books, though. So I'm a writer and I want to write a novel. But I keep getting into depressive episodes or school gets really busy, or I think of a better idea to write about. And I can't finish writing a novel, and then I see these authors writing 500 page novels and I feel kinda like a failure. Yeah I know, woe is me. But it does impact me as both a reader and a writer.

So, anyone who wants to do this is tagged! But specifically I tag Kristen at Metaphors and Moonlight and Lauren at Always Me.

Also I'd like to apologize for not posting as often....university is really stressful already! Don't worry, I'm not on hiatus or giving up blogging, and I swear I love everyone's blogs and I will keep on blogging, but don't expect me to be too consistent with my post schedule in the upcoming months.

Book Title Book Tag

I found this awesome tag at Metaphors and Moonlight . You use book titles to answer the questions asked!

1) Title that's the story of your life

Chasing Truth (Eleanor Ames, #1)

Chasing Truth covers this one. Essentially my whole life I've been chasing truths: who am I? What is family? What's important in life? I want to know the true answers to all of these questions.

2) Title that describes your perfect weekend

 Blood and Chocolate

Blood and Chocolate. By blood I mean watching great horror movies. And chocolate speaks for itself.

3) Title of an adventure you'd like to go on

 The Killing Woods

The Killing Woods. What if a body was found in some woods years ago, and I go out into the woods and hold a seance? Now that would be fun. I don't like going on crazy adventures.... just some nice woods fairly close by for the night is an adventure enough for me.

4) Title you want to name your child

Mercy (Mercy, #1)

Mercy would make a nice name.

5) Title of your ideal job

 Author, Author

Author, Author. Yep you guessed it.... an author! I wonder what gave it away?

6) Title of a place you'd like to visit

 Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)

Vampire Academy. I'd love to visit a school of vampires!

7)  Title of your love life

Did I Mention I Love You? (The DIMILY Trilogy, #1)

Did I Mention I Love You? I'm always telling my boyfriend how much I love him.

8) Questions you ask yourself

 M or F?

M or F? As in, how do I dress today so that my genderfluid self might get gendered properly?

9) Title of a kingdom you want to rule or name

Night World, No. 1 (Night World, #1-3)

Night World. If I rule the Night World, that would make me some sort of supernatural creature. Yes please! Can I be a vampire?

10) Title you'd name your band

Oblivion (Nevermore, #3)

Oblivion. I just think that'd be a great name for some kind of rock band.

50/50 Friday - Favorite/Least Favorite Character Name + Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag 2017

This meme is hosted at The Butterfly Reader and Blue Eye Books

This week's topic is favorite / least favorite character name!

Favorite

 Skulduggery Pleasant (Skulduggery Pleasant, #1)

I have several favorites. Skulduggery Pleasant, for one. I also love the name Chaol Westfall

Least Favorite

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)

I'm not a huge fan of the name Grace. I also don't really care for the name Isobel. I don't hate these names at all, I just don't think they're the most interesting names ever.
What do you think of these names?

Mask of Shadows! Genderfluid represent!

12) Favourite book to movie adaptation you've seen so far in 2017

I don't think I've seen any! :(

13) Favourite review you've written so far in 2017

 Oblivion (Nevermore, #3)

Oblivion. It's not some epic review, but its a review for the last book in one of my most favorite trilogies ever.

14) Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year.

 Zodiac (Zodiac, #1)

I have bought lots of lovely books, but Zodiac stands out for sure!

15) What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

So many. I'm not even gonna bother to list them. Just... so many.

Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

I found this tag at Feel Your Books

In this tag, you discuss your opinions about books that may not be shared by others! Enjoy.

Popular Books or Series I Wasn't Feeling
Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) Embrace (The Violet Eden Chapters, #1)
Vampire Academy wasn't a bad book, I did enjoy it. But I didn't really get any of the hype behind it, and I didn't find it amazing. It gets a solid 4 stars from me, but I won't be reading the rest of the series any time soon. While not as popular, Embrace didn't do it for me at all, I didn't even finish the book.

Books or Series I Enjoyed More Than the Masses
Nevermore (Nevermore, #1) Blood Magic (The Blood Journals, #1)
Neither of these books seem to have become as popular as I wish they had. Nevermore is one of my favourite books, and Blood Magic falls slightly lower on the favourites list but is definitely still included.

A Failed Love Triangle / An OTP I Didn't Like
Fallen (Fallen, #1) The Forbidden Game (The Forbidden Game, #1-3)
I do not ship Daniel and Luce. I want her to be with Cam! Fallen definitely fits into this category. Also, I want Jenny to be with Julian from The Forbidden Game, not Tom.

Popular Genres I Rarely Read
I don't usually read historical fiction. I prefer stories set in the current era/timeframe. Also, sci-fi isn't really my thing, though I've read some great sci-fi stories.

Beloved Characters I Don't Like
I don't know why, but for some reason, I never liked Peeta from The Hunger Games.

Popular Authors I Can't Get Into
Richelle Mead. She's not a bad writer, and I may read some of her books in the future but she's not number one on my list.

Overused Tropes I am Tired of Seeing
I don't mind cheesy romances but there comes a time when one can only stand so many over-dramatic first meetings, ridiculously failed attempts at being inconspicuous (especially when lives depend on it) and bad boys. I want more realistically mysterious, somewhat shy or reserved, maybe even tastefully antisocial male love interests, please! (*cough* see: Nevermore *cough*).

Popular Books or Series I Won't Read
Divergent (Divergent, #1) The Book Thief
Divergent doesn't seem like the kind of book I'd like. I liked the movie. But I'm not sure if I would enjoy the book as much.  Also, The Book Thief looks way too depressing for me.

Movie Adaptions I Prefer to the Books
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)
I enjoyed the City of Bones movie, and now TV show Shadowhunters, more than the actual book. I think it may have to do with the pacing of the plot.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Book Tag!

I found this tag at The Book Goddess

Questions
Sally - A book with a character who loves someone so much and actually gets them in the end
Jack - A book with a character who longs for more
Zero - A book with a loyal sidekick
Oogie Boogie - A book with one hell of a wicked villain
Halloween Town - A book that's creepy or has a scary theme
Christmas Town - A book that left you feeling warm and fuzzy inside
What's This? - A book that took you by surprise

Sally
  3090465
The Twilight Series definitely fits the bill. After four books together Edward and Bella's love is still going strong and they actually end up together!

Jack
Vampire Kisses (Vampire Kisses, #1)
Raven from Vampire Kisses definitely longs for more.

Zero
  284440
While Valkyrie eventually becomes more independent and not really as much of a sidekick, I'd say she's more of a sidekick in the first Skulduggery Pleasant book, and very loyal.

Oogie Boogie

  The Heartless City
The villain in The Heartless City is pretty wicked.

Halloween Town
  Asylum (Asylum, #1)
Asylum has got some creepy themes for sure.

Christmas Town
Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)
The romance in Shiver definitely gave off a warm and fuzzy feeling.

What's This?
Stolen: A Letter to My Captor
When I picked Stolen up at the book store one afternoon I wasn't expecting to stay up into the early hours of the morning crying because.....whyyyyy? *Sniffles*

I hope everybody enjoyed my post on this awesome tag! If you create your own post make sure to leave a link here and at The Book Goddess
